Frequently Asked
Questions

1. What are STAA's Anatomy & Physiology requirements for the practitioner membership
levels?
a. We recognise that effective use of SCENAR in therapy is not dependent on the therapist's
knowledge of human Anatomy and Physiology. Even so, fundamental
knowledge of the modern understanding of how the body is made up and how its systems function set the context
of our work. Also when considering the legislative and
professional environment within which we work, a minimum basic understanding of Anatomy & Physiology
provides an element of credence to SCENAR in therapy.
b. Those applying for membership who are already in a health profession (such as Medical
Practitioner, Physiotherapist, Remedial Massage therapist, Naturopath, Chiropractor, RN, etc.) will, in most
cases, already comply with our Anatomy & Physiology requirements. If you are not sure where you stand, please contact
us with your specific details.
c. If you have no Anatomy & Physiology qualifications, then we're looking for evidence of
learning at Certificate 4 level. This will usually involve study
of about 100 hrs. You have several options available to you from
units offered by Universities and other learning institutions as part of a health science curriculum, through
to distance learning. Please contact us for more
information.
2. How do we measure experience as a SCENAR Therapist? Is it exactly 2 years?
a. Two years after the completion of Level 2 SCENAR training is our guide. However we understand
that a therapist who has been treating say 7 patients a day every day for, say, 18 months may have more
experience than the therapist that has been treating 10 people a week for two years. Please give us your details.
3. I already have adequate professional indemnity insurance. What changes do I need to arrange?
a. You will need to advise your insurer that you are a SCENAR Therapist (and provide proof of
your STAA membership, such as your membership number) and that you use a SCENAR device. The insurance company
will endorse your policy to include this.
b. We have developed
a relationship with OAMPS insurance brokers and secured cheap premiums with them for our members. You may like to compare these premiums and policy benefits with your
current provider.
4. I am a practitioner member. What level of
professional indemnity insurance cover do I need?
a. If you are a practitioner member within the
Member category you will need to hold a minimum of $2M professional indemnity cover. Our CSP members will need to hold a minimum of $5M cover.
5. How can I be included on RITM Australia's "search for a SCENAR therapist" website?
a. RITM Australia Pty Ltd has, independently of STAA, created a website tool that makes
it easy for the population to find a SCENAR therapist close to them. Only therapists that are members of this Association (whatever their
membership category) can be listed. Once you have become a
member you will need to contact RITM to provide them with the details you want listed. You will be asked to upload proof of membership to this association as well
as proof of SCENAR certification. This service has been provided
by RITM Australia for free to our members.
